"I have some older one that overheat quickly and gather at the top, this one is good for about 6 hours before the goo forms into smaller balls. I think it might be the newer bulbs though. I have bought small Edison screw to G9 adapters for my Mathmos…"

LAVA BRAND

Has 'Lava' brand changed their formula? I bought a Yellow/pink lamp from Amazon because I liked the colour and it came with a little 25w G9 bulb. Apart from arriving a bit cloudy (it has cleared a bit up now) it seems to run great! Nice flow and it doesn't overheat quickly.

Ouija replied to Paul's discussion Has anyone else noticed new Mathmos bottles go cloudy really fast?
"I have my clear turquoise lamp that is almost a decade old. It sits a little cloudy, but when it's on it goes crystal clear. It has always been like this. All my other colour liquids seem OK."

Something Interesting About Me:
I live in Scotland and collect Ouija boards and Lava Lamps.
Where I Live:
SCOTLAND
My First Lava Lamp was:
I was given a Lava lamp for Christmas when I was about 13. I used it most nights for a year when the bulb finally blew. I put It into storage. It was a cheap china knock off, but as I remember was a nice flow. 2 years ago I found a mini rocket lamp at a car boot sale for £2 I bought it. I was amazed once again. I started researching lava lamps, I had never even heard of Mathmos! I was hooked! My nephew wanted my little rocket lamp so I gave him it, and started heading for bigger and better lamps, 2 years later and I am the proud owner of many Mathmos lamps.

I have tried to explain to my friends how great they are, referring to them as "the perfect pet", but they just don't get it.

I have still never found my original lamp I had when I was 13... *sigh*
