Lava Lamp Royale & Double Play

Lava Lamp Royale & Double Play running side by side. The Double Play as a whole is nicer in person than photos and or videos might suggest. I personally like it despite the little blobs and not a gooey flow but we know why this is. The Royale in my opinion is a very good lamp but with little effort put behind it to make it hit. The lack of color combos and original high price doomed it before it had a chance to take off. I still believe these will be quite collectible one day. My last thought is that the size makes for nice short chubby lamp, a size that could have easily been continued with the addition of glitter options and new color combos. My opinion, mistake to discontinue it but I think I stand in the minority on this one. These lamps lamps could turn out to my some of my regular favorite users.

Comment by Jason on September 2, 2017 at 4:43am: Great looking lamps! I have the double play as well and mine is not a very gooey flow lamp either, but Im curious as to why you think that is? A cursory glance isn't showing why.

Comment by kero48 on September 2, 2017 at 8:07am: If you are referring to the double play, you have to remember that the center of the bottle has a tube where the lava resides/flows in. There is very little space for it to really do anything other than go up and down, add in the fact that the lava and liquid is of china origin you get the flow the double plays have which is just blobs and not gooey snotty strings etc.

Overall I use it several times a week and makes for a nice accent piece in the living room
