Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hi,

I had filtered a grande, and now I need to seal the cap.

I saw somewhere here it's better to do it when hot, so it create a vaccum when it's getting colder, but.

I guess in factory they sealed them while cold (I won't imagine china factory heating all the lamps before sealing them).

so, what's the best? (and why?)

thanks

Seal it when hot, at the factory they have a heat machine that will just heat the cap and seal the lamp, we don't have said sealers at home, so we have to use the heat and the vacuum the lamp creates to seal them at home.

I heat mine up. but not too the point of it flowing.less pressure to blow the top off that way

I am with the group seal when hot, if not, rather warm.

OK, thanks.

Any tips (tools) to get the job done easy?

Done easily with the flat screwdriver from a swissknife.

You could always seal it best you can then take a "shrink wrap" sleeve and place over your seal job add heat it up and shrink

wrap the rubber down to the cap.  That is how my Giants are sealed. First stopper, then crimped caps, then heat shrunk sleeve in place.  Good Luck!
