THANKS, OOZING GOO FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND INTEREST OVER THE YEARS!
Mandatory post update is MANDATORY.
In addition to the modded lamps that I have been selling, I will soon be offering slow glitter in LOOSE form (not contained in one of my lamps)! A lot of you have been asking for a long time now. The glitter contained in that liquid can be ANY shape you choose, and many colors, including prismatic!
But for right now, you can design your perfect lamp in lava or glitter, at the following rates:
$40 per regular glitter
$45 for replacement color glitter
$50 for lava
$55 for Custom cut glitter in any shape
Post here or in a PM (you'll need to send me a friend invite first) with your color choices. Please also state whether you want a lava lamp or a glitter lamp. I also now offer replacement glitter in 14 colors! There is an additional charge of $5 per lamp for that, but the custom color combinations are almost limitless.
ALSO...I am finally taking orders for custom cut glitter! I can also do cut glitter in virtually ANY SHAPE, so let me know if you want something special! Higher rates apply if you need me to render your design from scratch, but not by much.
- I will make a mockup of the lamp that you requested if you would like, so that you can see it. Then, we'll both be sure we're on the same page, as far as what you want.
- This will be on a first-come, first-served basis, but orders requiring anodizing will have to be skipped temporarily. I hope to be able to mod several lamps in a day, so don't despair too much if you are down pretty far on the list!
- I have a set list of paint colors, but if you really want a color that is not listed, just tell me what color you want, whether you want matte, gloss, satin, metallic, satin, or fleckstone paint...I'll see if I can find it. I know that matte and metallic colors are harder to find in variety though, so be aware of that. I can also seal your glossy lamp with a matte sealer, if you like.
- Once you have made your final decisions, you can send payments to my paypal address. I will then begin work immediately on your order,
Please note - I STILL am not currently equipped to handle anodizing...only unpainted silver bases, and painted ones until then. If you want metallic blue, red, grey, gold, silver, bronze, amber, or black, and do not want to wait, I have metallic paint in those colors. Just state your desires in your post. :)
This order is a statement that you intend to buy, but I'm not a nazi. I understand that life sometimes throws curve balls at us all. Only, if you have to cancel, please do it as soon as you can, to decrease the chances that I've made your order already!

Ah, gotcha! :)
Oh, and Jack's lamp is finally done...it came out pretty good, I think!
That finish wound up being...a bit bumpy. Glossy, but bumpy, because of all the micro crystalline particles in there...that, and all the layers! Tiny little bumps grew with each coat, but I honestly don't think it's too bad. Jack, if you don't like this, I will fix it for you!
[EDIT] And I just realized that I hadn't taken the paint guard off of the cord in that picture...oops. :p
I would love a few of your lamps.. But how much do you think it would cost to ship two all the way to denmark?
Wow...I'm not sure how much that would cost, but I could look into it. I know that I can ship 2 lamps in a 30.5 cm x 30.5 cm x 30.5 cm (12"x12"x12") box, and that it weighs about 10 lb (4.5 kg).
Also to consider are the customs charges, if any, and the fact that these lamps will have to be re-wired for EU electrical systems. :(
Is there an adapter which could be used?
Dont worry about the electrical system differences i just change the plug and the bulb and it works :) Done it before..
Well I've been doing a bit of looking. It looks like shipping 2 lamps to Denmark via USPS will cost about 60-75 USD. :( That sure is a lot... I'm not saying that I won't do it for you, but my goodness...
That is not bad actually. I have paid up to $90 to have a single lamp shipped from the UK. The ones of us that import lamps are well aware of the crazy shipping charges as well as the rewiring.

I know, but when you're selling these things online, you HAVE to let people know what's up. You can't just assume that they are going to know all that. The Chinese merchants I was working with did that to me. they knew I would be facing a crapload of customs charges, but they didn't tell me for fear of losing the sale. They didn't rip me off, per-se, but they left out some important details. I don't ever want to disappoint people like that.
I'm still kinda new, and still trying to learn who everybody is. Sorry if I was preaching to the choir.
At the time beeing that is too much for me, but how long are you gonna sell those lamps ? :)
I'm going to sell them until I run out, and then there won't be any more ever. :p
...Well maybe. I bought 100, and I've sold about 15-16...?
I have no idea how long that will take, but it's not likely that I will buy another order.
Well certainly put me down for at least a couple more, I want to see the one you're making for me first before deciding on colors etc. for the next ones. I'm sorry to hear that you're not going to get any more of these, especially the colored glitter ones you had mentioned earlier. But I totally respect your decision, you have your reasons. Are you getting any closer to anodizing?
Well...
I will say that I WANT to get more of them. If there is any way that I can, then I will. :)
And I am indeed closer to anodizing! Tomorrow I have to get a cable, strip part of it down, make a (rather large) resistance coil from the exposed wire, and set that all up in my shop. I also need to pick up some more battery acid. Theoretically, I could be done with the setup and ready for the first test run before the end of the week, but I already have a lot to do for my dad tomorrow, and other duties to perform. Plus I just got two more orders! Yay, I can start work on them tomorrow, hopefully!
But at this point, the anodizer setup has to come first...this has drawn on seriously long enough. I'm ready to get that working, dammit!
I'm sorry it's taking so long. I'm also sorry about the custom glitter. :( I wanted that to work so bad. I still have not tried to order any sodium nitrate online, but I think it shouldn't be too hard. I want to experiment with that stuff! If I can get a glitter lamp working with distilled water, glycerine, and sodium nitrate, then next it's just a matter of finding the right kind of foil in several colors. I haven't given up on that!
I'm kinda proud of myself that I put all this together by myself, planned it all out, and did it...but I bit off more than I could chew. Anodizing has suffered, custom glitter has suffered, my website has suffered...sigh. It would be really cool if I had super powers. :-/
Oh, and here are the lamps for Barlan and Jesse:
I'll make sure the red is a bit stronger in the actual lamp. ;)
