Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I received my Hunter Glitter (but I'm not so happy about it)

The seller packed well the lamp in a cardboard tube, bubble wrap etc...

but made one mistake by leaving the bottle in the lamp.

The result?

Ouch!!  Even the plug is smashed!  Hopefully you can work out a resolution with the seller.

Nasty!

thats real nasty, hunter bottles are quite thin glass, as ive found out, the packaging u got in the photo is way under protected, that has taken a hell of bash to break the plug as there pretty tuff :-(

Did you tell the seller how to package it as I have learned to allways inform the seller the best way of packaging a lamp

At least the base is ok, i think the base takes jet bottles.

The seller was very reluctant to ship abroad, affraid the lamp be broken during shipping, and I said it will be OK if well packaged.

It was indeed well protected from up and down, but not for lateral shocks. Big mistake from the seller.

I received 5 lamps the last few days, and of course the only one who arrived broken was the most difficult to find.

I don't really care about the base (I don't like it) but I was dying to see "live" the famous Hunter glitter.

Anyone having a video showing it?

I'm not sure I can get any refund from this. (any tips welcome).

The last time I tried paypal to help me I had nothing.

This lamp cost me about 60eur including shipping, so it's a big loss for me.

I'm still fighting with Ebay and my seller after I paid £74 for two Crestworth lamps (a coach light and an Astro), PLUS £20 post and packing from Berkshire to Essex (gasp!) only to find Parcelforce had played football with my parcel. Astralav, that amount of banned solvents soaked into the packaging is deadly! I hope you don't have that stored in your house??? Did you sign for the package? I had to collect my parcel from the Parcelforce Depot, and when I saw the state of the contents, I didn't sign for it. I took photos of the soggy box and broken glass, and explained to the seller and Ebay that the solvent perc was inside and that it was carcenogenic. I think my refund is on its way. I suggest you explain about the toxic CFC content, so you cannot return it; your photos are VERY clear as to authenticity!

So Sad:(

Looks like the Hunter ended up the Hunted!

The thing to do is firstly talk to the seller about it and try to sort it out that way, if not then contact Ebay and Paypal and you could get a refund through paypal and / or ebay under ebays buyers protechion policy.

The same has happend to me with a astro - admitly i got it for 99p (yes what a bargin) the postage was somthing like 6-9 pounds (ok for a astro) but there was little to no packaging. It was just wraped in cardboard and it was compleatly smashed when it arrived - the seller dident want to give any refund or do anything about it.

I should have gone to ebay / paypal about it, all I did was leave bad feedback - I should have pushed more for a refund.

P.s. i feel that mabie the seller felt put out that it went for the lowest and only bid so dident want to invest in packaging

LizB, I didn't sign, but someone did for me.

The package has been "repacked/ wrap" by the French post office with a letter from them, so I have a proof something was wrong during shipping in UK.

The seller right now doesn't to refund me as I insisted for having the lamp shipped to France against her will.

I told her she had the choice, and the responsibility for bad packaging is not mine.

So I wait her answer before opening a dispute thru ebay and paypal.

to be continued...

Hey, Astralav? Are you in the USA, or where?
