Do you think this is enough room? This has been on for over 24 hrs and this is where it's at...there's still basically the entire neck for expansion room but wondering if I should take a bit of fluid back out. I hate to mess with it again but I also don't want a geyser.
The 1st pic is after about 12 hrs of on time...the 2nd is just now, about 30 hrs. Hasn't really gone up any more after the initial expansion.
Its pretty clear....hard to capture it on a pic...in person though its clear...I can read size 14 print through it. I'll try to get a higher res pic w more light tomorrow.

Yup the pic showing the liquid level (both) were taken hot..one after about 12 hrs on time...the 2nd after about 30 hrs. Cold its just about even with the start of the tapered part.
Well I capped her up tonight...still afraid its going to blow up and kill me though......it just seems to be wrong to cap cold. But I was afraid of the stopper getting sucked in if I did it warm, since when I shut it down this morning the stopper (loosely fitted) was ballooned up in a bulge. When I got home tonight it was completely sucked down...and starting to pull itself in on the one side that was torn. I was afraid of it going in after I had the crimp cap back on so I let the vacuum out of it before I crimped the cap back on.
it sounds like you may want to ditch the rubber plug and seal it another way, like what critter suggested with acrylic.
it looks pretty clear, but maybe you should run it for another week or so and see if it needs to be filtered again before sealing it. it looks much better, but it's hard to tell if it's crystal clear.
Unfortunately I already crimped it on last night...but I think I may have another issue now. Looks like the white stopper is splitting in the middle now too. Thinking of just ditching like was suggested but instead of using a piece of glass...using one of these
