I have made new recipe for motion lamps that adds a 21st century twist to them AND brings back the nostalgic 'flow' that seems to be missed by many connoisseurs of the lava lamp. I have launched the project via kickstarter to make this happen. Right now I have to buy the bottle from China, but the actual formulation and installation will be done here in the USA and I NEVER plan to give that to China. In fact, I hope to get event he bottles made in the USA one day!
Please check out my kickstarter below!

I've been working really hard on this project for 3 years. I actually have a few random members and informative posts from oozing goo to thank for helping me make this happen!

AWESOME!!!!!!! I know what I'm putting on my wish list for birthdays and holidays...
Dooooood!!!!! I have a VERY special request and here's why...I have 12 magnetic implants in my fingertips. If I asked you ever so nicely with a pretty please would you sell me a "kit" to do a 20 oz lamp with ferroluid? I have the bottle and lamp, I just need the stuff to go inside. OMG!!! I'm creaming my jeans just thinking about it. I think I just one-up-ed you epic factor!
I didn't realize people have magnetic implants. Unfortunately, I can't really sell this as a "kit." You have to buy it already made, but that's probably for the better. Ferrofluid is tricky stuff.
I'm curious about your implants. Have you ever played with superconducting magnets? I wonder what quantum levitation feels like...
Things like an MRI will rip them right out of my hands and superconductors usually require a refrigerant like liquid nitrogen making it impossible to find out. You can "see" just about anything else electromagnetic though. Everyday life is enhanced quite a bit. I know first hand just how nasty ferrofluid is, now imagine cleaning it up while it's sticking to your fingertips. Think of it like a cat with tape on it's paws sad yet amusing.

It's not impossible to find out. I know people that can get liquid nitrogen. And you can buy superconducting magnets on the internet for about $80. If you make friends with a some people at your closest university you might be able to arrange something. It's used for science demos all the time.
Can I ask what is the purpose of having magnets in your fingertips? And you know you can buy ferrofluid online right?
