60's/ 70's Lava Lamp Passed down to me, Crestworth Princess, Help?

Hiya, apologies in advance as i am new to this. I have had a very old lava lamp passed down to me & it is 42" in height, 32" globe & 8+ a half" diameter with red liquid wax & pure copper base (covered in material, maybe later?) & pure copper trim. I have been informed that it is very likely to be a crestworth princess globe but still coonfused about the base as it looks original to the lamp & you can tell the copper is same age as rest of lamp but has later rewiring on it & maybe material covering?

Anyone have any ideas to what this lamp could be & solve this ongoing mystery as its driving me nutz now. If it helps, my distant family were german & it was passed down from this side of the family. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also any idea of value of it or if it was a princess globe on a diff base etc please?

Cant see any markings on base or lamp but cannot get copper top off to check under there as it doesnt want to budge & i do not want to break it ;-(

Lol. I may very well sell the lamp, depending on what its worth. But I'm trying to find out what it is+ what its worth first !s I decide, so far to no evail! ;-). Any ideas?

I'm guessing Crestworth Princess. And it's likely worth a lot.

Your lamp should look something like this.

I am definitely not an expert on Mathmos lamps, but I really don't believe the base you have is the original lamp. You may try to contact Mathmos directly and ask them about the lamp. Another option would be to go to a carpenter and ask them if they can make a similar base. Afterall, the base it is on now is not very flattering.

Hiya, thankyou for your advise. Your lamp looks stunning, lucky you!!!! Do you know why my lamp is orangey/ red with red wax? & is your princess fully original inc base? sorry but im new to all this lol

Does the lower copper part of yours lift out of that cylindrical stand? As said above, the original stand is a gloss black wooden(?) ring with three teak-wood legs.

Technically, nobody knows what these were actually called, since the Crestworth Princess is really an Astro with a three-legged white metal stand.

id say the base bit is home made, as for removal of the top copper bit, chances are theres a locking cross which is a X shaped metal plate that goes across the bottle top and around the out part of the bottle sides, if you try to lever the copper top of chances are it could bend, so youd have to be carefull.

only other name i know the princess as for a old crestworth employee always refered it as the "rocket"
