looks like the cheap chinese lamps that flooded the market few years back
Do we know for sure as I thought maybe they were re-branded lava lights of the same style.
I agree with Johnny, cheap chinese lamps. Just with vintage look packaging.
Thanks, I thought maybe they had promise hahaha. I hope I can find some good ones locally this summer at flea markets or tag sales. Not big on buying things online.
Craigslist can be a good source also

Yep, nothing near me locally, flea market season has started so will keep my eye out for all those gems I probably passed up in the past year or two as I saw plenty but never looked at them closely. God only knows what I missed lol.
I've traveled 90 miles one way for a Lava transaction.
There was that one time that it was about 200 miles away, but that was on a day trip anyway.
Well I can totally see that happening if and when something very special is able to be obtained. I have collected things in the past I would travel that far for but these days, not so much.
I have learned to keep my collecting within reason, tough but doable :)
Looks like the generic 'motion lamps' that were everywhere around the late 90's... surprised they could get away with calling it an 'astro lamp' which is surely a copyright held by Mathmos.
