"Hi you can't sadly I got one with same problem they sealed unit and trying to open one will likely smash the glass top you can still use them plugged in though. Some the leds do go aswell overtime "

- I bought a mathmos jet in 1997 then fludium until now I have collected
36 lava lamps in my collection. I like collectiong cool colours which look odd but then cool. Mathmos is the best. I have a Astro Metallic Red/ Glitterball green/Glitterbaby yellow. Would like to get a lunar And a astro flock as these are great mathmos lamps.

- Hi john. I don´t try it. But Mathmos give the hint to use it at 20-24°C. Here in Germany it is colder.

Yes I need a heat shield. When I use a bulb without reflector i must use a heat shield. The blue bulb have no reflector. But when i use a bulb with reflector i don´t need the heatshield.

- hi john, what would your max offer be for my flock as i am interested in getting rid of it as i have two of the green ones and i am of on holiday soon so the money would be useful, as a rough guide the last flock i saw on ebay went for about £400

- Hi John. Nice collection of lamps, you currently only have 35 more than me! Although, in reality, it's probably closer to 36 more as I think mine's dead.The old 'wax sticking to the sides' problem has occurred after years of inactivity and I've been unable to sort it out. Going to have to replace it with loads of new lamps!
