So as you may remember, I replaced my son's and mine 52 oz neon lavas. I gave up on the purple, but my son still wanted his lime green (gotta admit I want one now in that color), but I fired his up for only maybe the 3rd run and the coil is flipping just like my white lava/pink. Now I don't know if it's because my liquid is so pink I can't see them, but my son's lava under where the coil is looks like brownish/black flecks of something are in it. What the heck is that? Is that from the coil? At first I thought maybe rust, but the coil looks brand new silverish with no signs of rust. I have 30 days to return it, so I think I will be making yet another Spencer trip.....just was wondering if anyone knew what their from. If not i'm calling Susan at LL on Monday.

It could be something narly in the wax, maybe from the coil or from manufacturing. Another possibility is that it could be wax dye that wasn't fully melted into the wax, but I think that is a long-shot. Personally I would give it time and observe it especially since it's such a long drive for you. Calling Susan is a good idea either way.
yea, I don't really know what it is, but now that it's flowing i'm not seeing it, so maybe whatever it is melted off, but I doubt it.
Sounds like what a few of us faced with our neon grandes, including myself. I have some pics out there of my neon grande that show the flecks clear as day. I got a replacement lamp from Susan which has been awesome so far, no flecks and awesome flow. It does do the coil flip though every single start, no matter if I try and warm it gradually, or put it right to full power it flips.
