Night of the Hunter

This is a group for those who have an interest in the so-called Hunter lava lamps named after their founder, Mr John Edward Hunter who attempted a patent on his Sata-Lite model in c. 1970. Later version was called the Sparkle-Lite using glittery strands in the liquid. They came in various designs but more or less one size and with only one bottle type but numerous colour combos in both wax and sparkly strands to glitter.

Hi Eliot, welcome to Night of the Hunter. Hope you can help unravel the mystery a little. I too have heard of this patent. Perhaps it never was approved due to a certain existing manufacturer Crestworth? Who knows? What ever became of J. E. Hunter?

I shall keep looking and see what I can find.

You've done incredibly well with your boxed Hunters. Can't wait too see the Sparkle-Lite!

That's cool Catalina. A very good site.

Indeed. The only thing I've uncovered so far as that the registered design number dates to June 1970.
