This is a group for those who have an interest in the so-called Hunter lava lamps named after their founder, Mr John Edward Hunter who attempted a patent on his Sata-Lite model in c. 1970. Later version was called the Sparkle-Lite using glittery strands in the liquid. They came in various designs but more or less one size and with only one bottle type but numerous colour combos in both wax and sparkly strands to glitter.

Yes this Sata-Lite intrigued both my friend Paul ‘Flock’ and me when we watched this episode of G&M a few years back. We couldn’t quite make out what was going on with the lamp behind Mildred as it looked somewhat distorted. I’m not wholly convinced the cap and bottle are standard issues.
Their lamp is foggy like mine!!!
I can't believe I've not noticed this before, check it out!
Seen in another episode of George and Mildred. https://youtu.be/xa6QdLTgHGY
At first I thought it was just the camera angle, but it would appear not. The bottle is much more tapered than usual, with a taller and slimmer cap!
Rarely seen if somewhat Tatty box to the 'Hunter' Sparkle Lite (I normally hyphenate the Sparkle and the Lite as in Sata-Lite.)
Johnny, that's brilliant! Thank you!
after hunting through my box files of lava stuff found 2 patents for John Edward Hunter lamps
patent no.1368241 is mainly the contents for the lava lamp
patent no.136842 is the construction of base etc

Indeed. The only thing I've uncovered so far as that the registered design number dates to June 1970.
That's cool Catalina. A very good site.
Hi, dunno if you already have this but I just did a short search and found this:
