I've had a remarkable year where Lava Lamps are concerned. I had been looking for an Imperial for a good while and thinking I might never find one. Sure, I knew where there are five or so, but they are in the hands of people who love them. I was quite shocked to get the chance to buy Jim's Imperial this past March. The funny thing is that I almost passed on it when he made me the offer. I'm sure many would wonder why I even gave that notion a thought. Well, last Fall I stumbled on to… Continue

Yay! We got back from Atlanta with them a little while ago. :)
Damn things wound up costing an extra SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS.
I think we got fleeced on that...it was like having to buy them twice...once in China, and once in the US.
But I'm still not going to charge more than I said I was, I'm just not going to be able to do this again probably. The… Continue

Are you the king (or queen) of lava lamps? Make your way to the top of the new OG Leaderboards to show them all that you are the most obsessed GooHead on the planet. Soon, we'll be launching this totally cool feature.
The Leaderboard algorithm recognizes quality participation. Popular content and relevant comments are rewarded. Don't spam the boards with useless posts in an attempt to "game" the system; We're watching. So let's have some fun. Good luck!

Okay, I've been waiting for someone, anyone to instruct folks on how to Start a Discussion/thread, instead of posting a Blog...Since our Gooey front page STILL has blog posts from members who don't know any better....
Starting a Discussion/thread is the way to connect with other members about a topic. A THREAD can be about anything, usually pertaining to the site topic. When a member starts or… Continue

Gosh, is it really only a week since my trip to sunny Dorset and to the Mathmos factory in Poole? The folks we met there were really nice and friendly and even let us look around the place including where they fill the bottles!
I spotted a nice boxed Faze 2 lamp there but alas it was not for sale.
It was nice to see the permanent display of current products and my friend Paul and I even made a couple of purchases, Paul a nice replacement Astro bottle in Violet/Orange and I… Continue

This is random and has nothing to do with lava, but my family and I are looking to relocate to the above area. I just wondered if anyone had any experience in these places or suggestions. We really want to move to the mountains and are looking for a somewhat mild climate. It's so hot in Oklahoma my lava lamps actually react weird during these summer months, even with air conditioning!

I've been a bit harsh towards a couple folks lately... Like REALLY mean spirited, condesending, mocking...
just totally NOT the normal me. Yes, I'm sarcastic, blunt, crass & dirty minded... I can also be fiercely loyal, overcaring & overly enthusiastic! I guess where Lava's concerned, I should try to go with the flow. So, here's a public apology for past & future episodes of my full on Evil Tendencies... I hope they become fewer &… Continue

So you like the limelight? Here's how to get your blog posts featured on the homepage of Oozing Goo. Write about Lava Lamps. This website is about lava lamps (and their cousins). Not sex, not drugs, not rock and roll (well maybe a little.) If you can write about lava lamps then everyone is happy and nobody gets hurt. So bring on your ideas! What new… Continue

I have an old Simplex Wave Machine that developed a crack in the acylic and lost its' content. I really like the relaxing appearance of the wave. I need some insight as to the nature of the two liquids contained in the wave machine. I would guess the contents are less complex and fussy that the Lava lamp. I would appreciate any comments regarding the liquids.
My intent is to manufacture a new generation Wave Machine, with some new twists, such as LED illumination. This would be a… Continue
