I know what you're gonna say. I should have known better. I did know better. Any Lava brand lamp made post-2003 is dicey at best. Well, I'm happy to report that I've actually had pretty good luck with purchasing new 17" lamps. I picked up a couple from the Schylling website last week made in 2019 that both look and function just fine.
And a solid two out of the three lamps that arrived today from Spencer's were, in the immortal words of Meatloaf, ain't bad.…Continue
I would like to thank Mark Goo personally for creating this amazing community, because I am now able to write in-depth about my sudden addiction to 90s-early 2000s lava lamps, the weirdest manifestation of quarantine stress that my brain could conjure.
I am ready to buy your book soon titled lava life
I've bought 9 lamps in the past 2 days.
Good news, I've now completed my life's goal, one that I call Rach's Clear Rainbow. I have also achieved all of the Safari lamps (that I know of)(except for Chocolate but who cares) so that's awesome and I feel awesome.
Bad news, I'm now penniless, and I'm pretty sure that I need actual mental help. So that sucks and I feel terrible.
I may not have a roof over my head or a car to drive in the near future,…Continue
Cheetah, Leopard, Snakeskin, and Tortoise. (I already had Zebra)
I'm so excited and stunned that I think I may barf
Edit: I barfed
Years from now I'm going to be talking to other women about The Best Day of Our Life like "Yeah the day my son was born was cool but that day I got all my Safaris was LIT"

So i cannot find a goo kit ANYWHERE. Magma Towers is and has been out of stock. I spoke to them 2 weeks ago and he told me that they will restock by the end of last week and that they were having some problems with their suppliers. And here it is 2 weeks later and still out of stock. They are apparently the only ones on this planet that make/made them. I can't find even the mention of one anywhere. Someone please prove me wrong. There must be a goo kit out there for me somewhere.
Kids, here are some simple Don'ts:
1. If your lava lamp bulb burns out, Don't replace it with a 60w lightbulb you found lying around the house.
2. Don't then proceed to leave your lamp turned on for several days in a row.
On that fateful day, I returned home from school and trudged to my bedroom as usual, only to find that my lava lamp had exploded from overheating, and everything I owned located in the blast radius of…Continue

The listing was for 11 lamps, all the same size, a glowing, veritable rainbow of wax colors suspended in clear liquids. A Dream Listing. There was one photograph of 11 lighted lamps, accompanied by one brief, pixellated YouTube video of the lamps in action. Price was $600 for the lamps and $150 for shipping. I check the seller's rating, feedback, and other items for sale, and seller seems legit. I send the seller a message gently inquiring about the size of the lamps, as that info was not…Continue
So the other day I was checking the new "lava lamp" listings on eBay, as I do every 30 mins or so. I'm not obsessed.
A listing popped up for a Midnight, pink/clear, with base and cap in good condition. Price: $15. Selling for heavy discount because "Lava doesn't flow."
The pics looked fine. I hit the Buy It Now button. Shortly thereafter, I received a message from the seller. "Just making sure you saw in the listing description that the lava doesn't flow." I…Continue
