I'm so excited and stunned that I think I may barf

Edit: I barfed

Years from now I'm going to be talking to other women about The Best Day of Our Life like "Yeah the day my son was born was cool but that day I got all my Safaris was LIT"

Goo kits nowhere to be found!

So i cannot find a goo kit ANYWHERE. Magma Towers is and has been out of stock. I spoke to them 2 weeks ago and he told me that they will restock by the end of last week and that they were having some problems with their suppliers. And here it is 2 weeks later and still out of stock. They are apparently the only ones on this planet that make/made them. I can't find even the mention of one anywhere. Someone please prove me wrong. There must be a goo kit out there for me somewhere.

That time I actually exploded a 60s/70s Enchantress Planter

Kids, here are some simple Don'ts:

1. If your lava lamp bulb burns out, Don't replace it with a 60w lightbulb you found lying around the house.

2. Don't then proceed to leave your lamp turned on for several days in a row.

On that fateful day, I returned home from school and trudged to my bedroom as usual, only to find that my lava lamp had exploded from overheating, and everything I owned located in the blast radius of…

$750, 11-lamp eBay listing amid a global pandemic and yes, of course I bought it

The listing was for 11 lamps, all the same size, a glowing, veritable rainbow of wax colors suspended in clear liquids. A Dream Listing. There was one photograph of 11 lighted lamps, accompanied by one brief, pixellated YouTube video of the lamps in action. Price was $600 for the lamps and $150 for shipping.  I check the seller's rating, feedback, and other items for sale, and seller seems legit. I send the seller a message gently inquiring about the size of the lamps, as that info was not…

$15 Midnight from eBay

So the other day I was checking the new "lava lamp" listings on eBay, as I do every 30 mins or so. I'm not obsessed.

A listing popped up for a Midnight, pink/clear, with base and cap in good condition. Price: $15. Selling for heavy discount because "Lava doesn't flow."

The pics looked fine. I hit the Buy It Now button. Shortly thereafter, I received a message from the seller. "Just making sure you saw in the listing description that the lava doesn't flow." I…

Re Done Lava Lamp

My mom died and I received her 1960 lava lamp , It is the one that has the big screw top with the big mouth opening jar is 11 1/4 high without base, The wax was shot so I dumped everything out and did some research and by trial and error and trying different methods but then came up with my own formula I got my lava lamp to work great,  The ooz floats to the top in  small and large  ooz then  drops down to the bottom and splashes the bottom ooz back to the top and it is like the movie The…

Mathmos Factory visit pt 2

Wow! Almost 10 years to the day since our last visit, this time to their premises on an industrial estate, unit 2 at Poole in sunny Dorset. We were lucky enough to go to the original Sterte Avenue West premises back in September 2009.

Once again I must say, the staff there were most accommodating and friendly. Took some pics of their amazing lava lamp line up including Astros, Telstar and Neos both table and wall varieties and enjoyed looking at the whole range including Space…

Looking for a very specific Lava Lamp and willing to pay $$$

Hello everyone, I hope I'm posting this to the right forum right now, just found out about this site, while on a mission.

If anyone see's this torchiere Lava lamp, and are willing to sell, I am more than willing to buy it off someone, for a reasonable price, I understand it's hard to find, but I've been looking everywhere for it.

My roommate had one when she was young and live with her abusive mother, about every week her mom would go through her room and trash and…

Glitter Graphics - Rolls Royce details

Have you noticed how often you see the Rolls Royce Glitter Graphic shown with a blank area where the Poverty Sucks line should be? (Left hand base in photo)

These five GGs show the variants I've seen...

Centre base is the Mark 1 version with POVERTY SUCKS printed on the screen in caps.

The second…

Fantasia Glitter Graphics

The series was produced by Fantasia in 1980, featuring these images (plus three words-only executions by another designer). The elusive "Big Rig" is a computer-generated recreation from the only known black-and-white range photo...

The colour border (from the "Rolls Royce") has been added to differentiate it from the real thing…

Hello people of the Goo variety, I my self like the lava lamps, but my true love is the fiber optic lamps..

Now i am hoping to get another motor for my color wheel on my Fantasia Love Bug.,

Does not have to be original motor, but the color wheel does need to fit into it of course.

Now if some one out there has an old love bug that the spray is cactus, or is no longer wanted, i will buy the motor from them ?

Or if some one knows  of a good change over one, could…

Sun Fading

This is my first try at sun fading a lamp, I couldn't believe how fast the blue faded. just took about four hours in the sun. The bottle was a white/blue bottle from 1994 that I had found at my local thrift store. You can't tell from the photo, but the wax had started to turn an off yellowish color which turned orange near the base of the bottle when running. This picture was taken after I had transferred the contents to the Carlisle bottle. The wax is now red with yellow liquid, but due to…

All that Glitters is Gold

Seems to me like the popular gold bases with the holes should of been glittered.  It didn't take long to paint, partlly because the Rust-Oleum spray nozzle stopped working after half the can maybe less.  But it was good enough and looked great after a couple coats of clear coat.

II sealed the bottom of the lid with poster putty and masking…
